After Sun - Soothe your skin naturally!

Here are some of my favourite natural beauty tips for using natural ingredients as after sun skin soothers, most of which I have tried over the years and I can say I found all of them effective ! These make delicious natural skin care products!
Aloe Vera - naturally
1 x Aloe Vera Leaf
Cut a piece of the leaf from the plant, and slice in two, gently slide the gooey side across your skin and repeat as often as you like!
I have a plant in my garden, and I use this all of the time as a general pick me up for skin any time of the year!
Organic Full Fat Yoghurt
I once was burnt quite badly on my legs, whilst on a visit to Dubai, and I remember asking the Hotel Restaurant Manager for some yoghurt which caught him by surprise when I explained I wasn't going to eat it, just smear it across my legs! It does work!
This helps if you can smear some full fat organic yoghurt on your skin as soon as it turns pink (or red), this will help to soothe your sunburn, cool your skin and help to re-establish your skins ph balance. Simply apply some to your skin, once you can feel the yoghurt to start to warm, it is time to wash off and re apply some more fresh cooled yoghurt. This feels much butter if you can use chilled yoghurt.
Strawberries and Yoghurt
Strawberries are full of AHA's - Alpha hydroxy Acids which are derived from fruit based plants. These are beneficial to our skin because they stimulate cell regeneration by removing the top layer of your skin cells. As we know by removing the dead layer, you reveal healthier skin. Using strawberries will help to cool your skin and take out some of the heat. Mash some and apply to the affected area and leave for at least 5 - 10 minutes, or longer. You may wish to combine with the healing yoghurt, this is an ideal skin soother, particularly for your face. Use fresh strawberries and mash and apply neat to your skin and leave until the yoghurt warms and then wash and re apply again some more chilled strawberries and yoghurt mixture!
Lavender Oil
Lavender is a natural healer, and applied using a cotton wool pad which help to soothe and heal your skin.
Still as so many people frequently point out, prevention is better than cure!
