Make your own natural air freshners - Chemical Free

Stop using those air fresheners which are full of harsh chemicals and create your own 100% natural room freshner air spray, ideal for when you want a quick burst of something nice in the air!
Find an empty spray bottle, garden centres sell some lovely ones, and small too! or reuse and recyle, an empty and thoroughly cleaned kitchen or bathroom cleaner spray.
Fill with preiously boiled water and spinkle some drops of your favourite essential oil, Lavender is particularly good.
When in need of a some 'fresh pleasant air' simply spritz !

Natural Home Fresheners - Aroma Crystals

Scent your home using wonderful natural Aroma Crystals, blended with pure Essential Oils and pretty botanicals.
Aroma Crystals
I particularly like aroma crystals when displayed in nice bowls around the home, plus they can be refreshed when the aroma has begun to fade, you simply top up with your chosen fragrance oil. Aroma Crystals are made using Chunky Sea Salt Cyrstals, and either Essential Oils or you could choose to use cosmetic grade fragrance oil. I also like to add some colour to mine as well to enhance their natural look and co ordinate with my colour schemes!
For fragrance I only use Essential Oils, and as a rule of thumb I use between 2 - 5 % of my chosen frgrance oil, i.e. 100g of crystals , I would add 5ml of fragrance oil, this should produce a great aroma for you and last for some time, before the need to refresh your aroma.
Colourings, I use cosmetic grade colouring which I also use in my soap making but you can use just as effectively food safe colurants too, particularly as these are only for display purposes. The quantity used is really dependant upon personal choice and how deep a shade of colour you are trying to achieve, but for 100g I would probably use 3 ml of colour. But this is really a matter of personal choice.
Equipment, I use a large kilner jar but any jar with a lid is perfectly ok, jam jars are great!
1)Empty your chunky sea salt into your jar, add your essential oils.
2)Add the colour drop by drop, stirring in between, you will see the sea salts begin to absorb the colour, so be careful and remember less is more, you can add your colour but not take it away!
3)Pop the lid on your jar and leave for 24 hours, this allows the salts to fully absorb the fragrances.
24 hours later your Aroma Crystals are all ready to use around your home and don't forget you can add a handful into your bin to keep it fresh too!
Tip
I like to add some pretty dried flower petals with mine to enhance their appeal, which I mix through when displaying my crystals in their bowls. Roses petals look really nice with pink aroma crystals, and calendula petals look great with gold shades. Then for my friend who just loves all things that sparkle, I add a sprinkling of some pretty glitter!
If you would like to buy chunky sea salts or indeed prefer a complete kit with all the ingredients, you can here :
