Healing Foot Balm - Make your own skin care
As I often remark our feet are so overlooked yet they work so hard for us and rarely receives any of the pampering that the rest of our body enjoys!
Making foot balms or any balm is incredibly easy, but also fabulously versatile too, simply make up a batch of the balm, and seperate into different bowls, add some refereshing peppermint essential oil to one batch, perhaps some gentle chamomile oil to the other batch and within a few minutes your have 2 different natural beauty products, a nourishing and softening foot balm, with a healing and soothing hand balm.
Ingredients:
Ingredients: 85g Shea Butter 13ml of oil of choice, 2 ml of peppermint essential oil, 2ml of chamomile essential oil or perhaps a mix 1 ml chamomile with 1ml of Lavender E.O.
I use a blend of Jojoba, Avocado and Rice Bran Oil, but you can choose whichever one you have a particular preference for.
1)
Soften your Shea Butter by placing in a bowl over a large saucepan of boiled and gently simmering water. Ensure that you DO NOT melt completely and allow the oil to heat up, as this will simply make your Shea Butter grainy once it is whipped. It is essential to ensure that it simply softens.
2)
Add your liquid oil of choice
3)
Whip, I use a traditional electric whisk, some people use a stick blender.
Whisk until your Shea Butter is light and creamy.
4)
Seperate your whipped balm into two bowls
5)
Add your chosen essentials oil and blend thoroughly
Decant each batch into sterilised and clean jars, screw on the lid and keep airtight.
Shea Butter has a naturally long shelf life and will last for several months if you keep clean and replace the lid securely.
Now you are ready to use your own 100% natural Shea Butter Foot Balm, and of course Hand Balm. These are full of natural healing properties, and completely chemical free!

When you make your own skincare products, people tend to overlook their feet, which are very hardworking and yet rarely treated with as much loving care as the rest of our bodies, so why not revive your aching & tired feet with a quick and easy fizzing foot bath with only natural ingredients!
This is so easy to create your own spa treatment, Ingredients: 1 x Tablespoon Citric Acid 3 x Tablespoon Sodium Bicarbonate Few drops of your favourite Essential Oil 1) Mix your Citric acid and Sodium Bicarbonate together in a bowl 2) Have a bowl of warm water ready that you will soak your feet into 3) Add a few drops first of your essential Oil, I like to use peppermint. 4) Pour your citric mix into the bowl and swish, this will begin to fizz and release the aroma of your essential oil
5) Place your feet into your fizzing foot bath and sit back and relax!
Whilst relaxing, why not apply a face mask, or some slices of cucumber and relieve those tired eyes too!
