Sensitive Skins Calendula Cleanser - Make your own skincare products

Calendula or Marigold flowers one of natures most healing and skin soothing flowers, renowned for their abilities to calm & soothe delicate & sensitive skin. This is a pure & natural cleanser which will gently melt away the dirt & grime leaving your skin feeling soft and cleansed.
Ingredients:
200ml Rice Bran Oil or Sweet Almond or Jojoba Oil
40g Beeswax
20g Organic or Unrefined Cocoa Butter
40g Dried Calendula Petals
Chop up the Cocoa Butter and Beeswax into pieces, then add everyting into a bowl over a pan of simmering water, gently melt all the ingredients. When cooled pour through a sieve or peice of muslin into a sterilised jar and seal when it is completely cooled.
How to sterilise a jar? Simply wash the jar until thoroughly cleaned, and place into a heated oven for approx 15 minutes. Wait until cooled before taking out of the oven, and use immediately.
A little cheat, is to use Calendula oil, and replace the Rice Bran oil with the same amount, and melt as per the recipe, the calendula oil will contain all of the flowers healing and soothing properties.

Whipped Shea Butter Balm - Make your own skincare

Pure and Natural Shea Butter, is probably one of the most beneficial and highly versatile natural products for your skin and hair.
Shea Butter naturally nourishes,re-hydrates and deeply moisturises your skin, your skin will never let you use anything else!
By making your own whipped Body Butter, you can create your own to suit whatever mood you are feeling, instead of buying a large 250ml pot of one particuarly fragrance, you can simply make a batch of unfragranced and add a little of your own fragrance as and when your mood changes.
Ingredients: 85g Shea Butter 15ml of oil of choice
I use a blend of Jojoba, Avocado and Rice Bran Oil, but you can choose whichever one you have a particular preference for.
1)
Soften your Shea Butter by placing in a bowl over a large saucepan of boiled and gently simmering water. Ensure that you DO NOT melt completley and allow the oil to heat up, as this will simply make your Shea Butter grainy once it is whipped. It is essential to ensure that it simply softens.
2)
Add your liquid oil of choice
3)
Whip, I use a traditional electric whisk, some people use a stick blender.
Whisk until your Shea Butter is light and creamy.
4)
Decant into a sterilised and clean jar, screw on the lid and keep airtight.
Shea Butter has a naturally long shelf life and will last for several months if you keep clean and replace the lid securely.
If you wish to make a batch of fragranced, reduce the liquid ois to 13ml and use 2ml of fragrance oil.
Now you are ready to use your own 100% natural Shea Butter Body, full of natural healing properties, and completely chemical free! You can apply to your skin or even use as a deep conditioning hair mask!
