Wibbly Wobbly Jelly Soap - Kids love this !

Who can resist wibbly wobbly jelly, and made as a Soap is just brilliant for kids bath time! I believe was first introduced by Lush, but I may not be 100% correct! I have come across a few recipes for this, but this is one that I like the most and is by far the easiest to create, and kids loving getting involved too!
Why not make a batch of this with some of the children's bath time milk shake, really get them clean!

Ingredients:

1 packet of gelatine use 15g (check the quantities of each sachet in a box)

125ml of your child's favourite bubble bath or shower gel, (brighter the colour the better)

190ml Water (boiling) Place the gelatin into a bowl and pour on boiling water, stir gently until gelatin is completely dissolved. Add the bubble bath and stir thoroughly, but stir gently, as you are trying to prevent any bubbles forming whilst stirring.

Once it is all dissolved, pour slowly and gently into a container, it can be a bowl, or perhaps a empty plastic tub (lunch box) then place in your fridge to set. You may like to place a small toy inside as well, to add a little more interest!

Once set your have your own jelly soap and to use, simply take a scoopful and add to your bath tub!

This will not last and is best used on the day of making, or perhaps 1 more day, but after that it will need to be thrown away, I would be surprised though if it survived that long!

Tip I like to add this as a layer on top of some of my bath bomb muffins, see the photo, I think it looks really effective.

Lush Floating Bath Soak - Make your own skin care products

Lush skin care products are so wonderful and they are made with lots of natural pure ingredients, they are ideal to re create at home, this is a recreation of their Floating Bath Soak and is a definite favourite! Ingredients: 170g x Cocoa Butter unrefined 1 tsp x Sweet Almond Oil 30g x Creamed Coconut 2tbsp x Honey 2tbsp x Fresh or desiccated coconut 15g x Fresh Banana few drops x Essential Oil (Suggestions Orange, Lime, etc ) 1) Gently melt the cocoa butter in a bowl over a pan of boiling water, but with the heat turned off. 2) Excluding the essential oil, mix all of the ingredients together in a large bowl. 3) Leave to cool 4) Add the essential oil 5)Pour into your chosen mould. Put in the fridge and leave overnight. Tip An ideal mould for these is a silicone type ice cube mould, and you can buy these easily from many shops, I like the fancy shaped ones you can buy from ikea, but it is not neccessary. As I frequently point out, no moulds, no problem, look for an empty plastic container, a lunch box, or a margarine tub. TO USE Run your bath and when you are almost ready to get in, simply plop a chunk into your bath and watch for the oils to slowly disperse, the essential oils to release their soothing aromas and you can nourish both your body and soul!

Kiddies Milkshake Bath Treat - Make your own skincare Products

This is a great way to make your own skincare products for the younger members of the family! This will encourage any reluctant children into the bath, and is especially kind to their skins as it only contains natural ingredients,no harsh chemicals at all! It can easily be adjusted as well to your child's favourite colours! Help them to make up a batch and they will be running to fill their bath !
Milk is not only beneficial to drink, supplying our bodies with vitamins, minerals and calcium, but is also easily abosorbed by our skin too! Therefore it is as effective being used externally. Not only good for our bodies, but is also extremly kind and gentle, as well as conditioning and moisturising our skin. It is an ideal natural bathing ingredient. I particularly like Goats Milk, as it is extremly kind to sensitive skins.
Recipe One
100g x Powdered Goats Milk - Great for sensitive skins and eczema or psoriasis sufferers
1 tbsp x Natural colouring of your choice
Natural Colours include:
Cocoa powder - coffee to brown depending on how much you add to your milk
Paprika - peach shades
Cayenne powder - cinamon shades
1) Simply sieve your powdered milk into a large bowl and sieve your powdered colour and mix thoroughly with a spoon.
Tip
Remember, the colour will not look anything like the finnished colour whilst it is still in powdered form, once wet this will show you the final depth of colour. Add more powdered colouring to create a stronger finnished shade.
Fizzing Milkshake
To help make your milk shake bath time have a little bit of a zing to it, why not add a ratio of Citric Acid and Sodium Bicarbonate to your powdered Milk Shake. Add a ratio of 3 - 1, which is 3 tbsp of Sodium Bicarb to 1 tbsp of Citric Acid, and sieving and mixing with your powdered Milk. Run your bath with warm water and add a handful of your bath milk shake mix and swish and wait for the fizzing fun begin!
Cheat's method
You could cheat a little and add some of your child's favourite 'Milk Shake Powder' which will create some great colours too! Yummy Strawberry - pale pinks to red! Mint for lovely green shades and they will smell fab too! Don't forget you could use any form of 'powdered milk as well. The benifit to using powdered milk is that you can store this for a while (if your children will let you keep it!) Using fresh milk of course will have to be used straight away.
Recipe Two
100ml x fresh milk
1tbsp x food colouring of choice
1) Simply whisk your colour into your milk.
This quantities will make approximatley enough for 1 bath, but make up larger quantities and store your powdered milkshake a nice muslin bag, or wooden tub and let your little ones, help themselves. I would not recommend storing the Milk Liquid shake, simply make up and use.
This is a perfect accompaniment to some really great 'Wibbly Wobbly Jelly Soap' which was first made by Lush ( I believe) and is really easy to create yourself and is great fun for the kids to make also, (with a little adult supervision).
One last warning, with any colourings, you may risk colouring your bath as well as your towels, so perhaps do a little test first!
Have fun.

Eczema Psoriasis Calendula Bath Soak Soothing Healing - Natural Beauty

Soothing Bath Soak ideal for Eczema,Psoriasis and all sensitive skins!
Sensitive Skins find this natural soothing bath soak wonderful! Created using only pure and natural ingredients without any harsh chemicals, it is 100% gentle and soothing, perfect to calm, and nourish your skin.
The following will make approx 250g of a Soothing Bath Soak, we are using a blend of skin loving Powdered Goats Milk, gentle, soothing and nourishing to sensitive skins, Oats, will naturally soften the water, Epsom Salts are legendary for their health benefits and in particular for senstive skins. Last but not least is the inclusion of the nourishing and deeply moisturising natural butters, you can use either Shea Butter, or Cocoa Butter, or a mix. I always use organic Cocoa Butter, due to it's rich yellow colour and chocolate aroma, which looks really nice when blended through the bath soak with the gentle and rich yellow calendula petals.
Ingredients:
125g Sea Salts ( Fine Sea Salt or a combination of Epsom and Fine Sea Salt)
50g Oats
25g Cocoa or Shea Butter shavings
50g Powdered Goats Milk
Calendula Petals to decorate
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl, try to make the Butter shavings quite small, this will ensure they melt once poured into your bath water.
Presentation
These look lovely when presented in a clear glass jar, layered with the calendula petals, or in one of the natural brown paper kraft bags , also known as tin tie bags, and of course you can simply pour a little into a square of natural cotton, and pull up all of the corners and tie with some pretty ribbon.
These make a lovely gift any time of the year!
